WILS hosts regular 'extra' events for it's members. These are an additional perk of your membership, although some may incur a further cost, and some may help us to raise funds to keep WILS going, so your support is very much appreciated! These events will always be optional.

Please RSVP using the form to the side of each event description. The event organiser - often WILS' President, Anne Marcantonio (pictured left) - will then be in touch with you to discuss payment and/or further information.

AFTERNOON TEA THE ARDEN HOTEL

CHRISTMAS PARTY

At last weeks monthly meeting members asked us for the date of this years WILS Christmas Party. To ensure that we choose the date that suits most people, please can you let me know if you would prefer, Friday 3rd or 10th or Saturday 4th or 11th December.

We have been looking at venues and have narrowed it down to The Falcon Hotel. They are happy for us to take over the restaurant and this would be laid out in tables of 10 with a dance floor and we would also have the adjoining private bar and seating area.

Please can you reply by Monday with the date that you would prefer so that we can speak to The Falcon Hotel and book.

We will be enjoying afternoon tea in the beautifully furnished Lounge at The Arden Hotel. A fantastic place to relax with friends at the end of the day and enjoy a selection of sandwiches, home made cakes, scones and tea served on bone china designed by the Victoria and Albert museum.

If you are feeling indulgent why not enjoy a glass of champagne with your afternoon tea or a cocktail afterwards on the terrace.

To secure your place please R.S.V.P.

A £10 deposit will be required with booking.

wils BOOK CLUB

MATILDA THE MUSICAL AT RSC

Books are chosen by the group from Warwickshire Library Book Club reading list . We order the books and collect them from the library in time for the meeting each month; you can either hand back the books at each meeting or return it to any Warwickshire library branch after you have read it. Sorry, but if you're late returning a book then you are responsible for paying the fee.

We meet on the 4th Wednesday in the month, usually at one of the group members' homes. We are a very lite and relaxed book club and there's no pressure on anyone to give a "guardianesque" review - unless, of course, you really feel the urge! The book club is really about what the members want. It has evolved into a very social get together of WI Lite members, who enjoy reading and alcohol.

Welcome to the magical world of Roald Dahl's Matilda, the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

Her parents think she is a nuisance and she thinks, quite rightly, they are only interested in watching telly. When they are not glued to the box, her mum spends all her time practising ballroom dancing while her dad gloats about his latest dodgy business deal. Life is not much better at school, where the monstrous headmistress Miss Trunchbull terrifies students and teachers alike.

Then one day Matilda discovers she has a very special power and decides it's time the grown ups were taught a lesson...
